The Story of S/Y Friendship

S/Y Friendship was designed by the legendary naval architect Knud H. Reimers as an exclusive offshore cruiser of the highest caliber. Reimers also designed the famous offshore yacht Agneta, later owned by Giovanni Agnelli, head of the FIAT industrial empire.

Originally named Carbonita, she received the name Friendship under her second owner, director Erik Pråhl (NK). A sister yacht was built at the same time and sold to Italy. The original mahogany interior was replaced with teak in 1958. In 1964, she was acquired by attorney Kjell Holmqvist in Gothenburg, and she has remained in the family ever since.

Major upgrades include a rebuilt cockpit (1996), a 54 hp Volvo Penta diesel engine (1986), and a 19 m Sitka spruce mast (1996).

Reimers (1906–1987) is regarded as one of Scandinavia’s most influential yacht designers.
